Latest News about Pacquiao vs Cotto


Official weigh-in: Pacquiao- 144 lbs, Cotto- 145 lbs

Friday night (Saturday in Manila), in front of the fans, the Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao easily weigh-in at 144 lbs, while the Puerto Rican champion who reportedly had difficulty in lowering down his weight stipped the scales at exactly 145 lbs. And the Pacquiao vs Cotto is officially set.

Both boxers got in to the weight limit. But the natural 147 pounder had to go in to a diet just to reach the stipulated weight. Manny said that this is the heaviest fight ever in his boxing career after his fight against the legendary Oscar De la Hoya, in which he weighed in 142 lbs.

Manny reportedly plans to enter the ring on Saturday night ( Sunday in Manila) at around 149 lbs. and trying to get the seventh title and make a historic fight in the boxing history. While the Puerto Rican champ is expected to climb heavier than Manny Pacquiao, and will prevent from getting the belt from him.

And now both boxer are officially ready for the fight. The people all over the world will witness the most awaited fight of the year. Filipino are expecting Manny to win and give another honor to the Philippines. Having a six titles plus the speed and powerful left punch will surely give Cotto a great pressure. But Manny is still the challenger in the fight. Manny don't want to underestimate what Cotto has. Being the welterweight champion is not a easy opponent.


Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao are both great boxers. Whoever your bet is, let's just say "may the best man win." We all need to witness the fight on November 14, Saturday (November 15, Sunday in Manila).
